Toy Story 5 Teaser Pits The Beloved Duo Against a Digital Device
It has been 30 years after the first Toy Story movie debuted, launching Pixar as a major film company and introducing viewers to beloved characters like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now household names.
Coming in 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a glimpse into the plot but leaving fans curious how it will resolve the ending of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Toys
In the teaser reveals the young girl — who inherited the toy collection when he grew up — getting a latest toy, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. She acquires her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.
Presumably, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the toys appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it probably is.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
One thing the teaser avoids is what the sheriff is back with his friends in the child's bedroom. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him set off on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), traveling with a fair and assisting giveaway items find good homes.
Certainly, the filmmakers will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him appear in Bonnie's room without warning is a little strange, however. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with Woody. And what about the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?
Connections from the Previous Film
Fortunately, some aspects are continuing from the earlier movie. The final act the cowboy did before setting off for his fresh path was hand over his symbol of authority to Jessie (the voice actor), entrusting her in charge of the toy domain. In the teaser shows the insignia attached to her outfit.
It is hoped she is still the driving force among the toys.
